Basildon Council
Basildon was created as one of the UK’s first post-war New Towns and is home to 190,000 people across five diverse and thriving towns. The borough has picturesque countryside and the largest economy outside of Canary Wharf across the entire Thames Estuary.
The council is now working with Cushman and Wakefield and urban designers, We Made That, to develop a new masterplan for Basildon town centre for adoption in March 2020. This will guide the centre through the next 15 years and provide a framework for constructive relationships with developers.
We Made That
We Made That is an energetic architecture and urbanism practice with a strong public conscience.
Established in 2006, we work with our public sector clients to prepare incisive urban research, to develop responsive area strategies and masterplans and to deliver distinctive architecture and public realm projects.
We Made That will be overseeing the spatial aspects of the Masterplan including a vision for the public realm and built form
